I would use for the cold shower. U must not forget that he will one day need to be cleaned, and the rough finish will keep the dirt and be difficult to clean. We retiled our shower last summer, and I had to use shiny ForSight ,,,,,,,,, so easy to clean. but thats just me. I like the look of the matte, but sooooooo difficult to clean.
