Bathroom Storage Units

Bathroom Storage UnitsIs it legal to live in a storage unit in Santa Ana CA. with a power and a bathroom and is authorized by the owner?

I will act as resident manager and security for the storage facility and associated companies. The owner is afraid he may get into trouble, he was 90 years. old and has ownership of storage buildings and all the surrounding businesses. Everything is coded, the power structure and installation of bathroom with shower and hot and cold water. If someone can tell me where to find all the information on this I'd be very grateful.

I will not go looking for what I did not have time. However, that being said - I'm pretty confident that this is not legal to live in such a building. A storage building is designed for storage, not for human habitation. There are laws in the building code specific to any structure intended for human habitation. Chace is, storage facilities, because of their nature, are not required to comply with any of these laws.

Your old friend 90 years is probably right - if you can live there, it looks at some potential liability if something happens to you. If I were his lawyer, I strongly recommend that will not let you live.

As long as it is to code is allowed. If you are unshure call the building inspector in your city
