Holding a successful garage sale to raise funds awareness There is an art to holding a garage sale and making lots of money. Any money you spend, you should always pay off in the first place of the sale price!
Four weeks before your sale, e-mail to all your friends, colleagues and family members. Tell them that you have a garage sale where 100% of proceeds go to breast cancer. Also, ask if anyone wishes to donate their time to help you call. In your email give suggestions on items:
- Furniture (Tell them that if they have furniture to call you. You can rent a U-Haul truck for $ 30. If someone calls, you can then plan to pick up furniture everyone the same day.)
- Clothing (men, women, children) - Application hangers
- Handbags, briefcases, suitcases
- Old CDs, cameras, electronics, hardware, lamps
- cooking tips, small appliances, mugs, glasses, plates, cooking utensils
- Jewelry
- Christmas orders
- Toys, sporting goods (golf, baseball, soccer commands skiing, etc.)
- Images, frames
- Books, magazines
- Pillows, curtains, bedding, shower curtains, towels, placemats, napkins
- Cosmetics (people like to buy these miniature samples you get gifts over the counter cosmetics), hair dryer, hot rollers
- Bakery - If they have not all evidence suggests they do a batch of cookies or brownies. You can sell them for $ 1 each.
- Make a flyer to all your neighbors to tell them about the sale and contact you if they have something to give. If you have time, deliver flyers several blocks around your house.
- If you have goods to such an extent that you do not think you can keep your look at home renting a hall or other facility to organize the sale.
- Place ads in your local newspaper one week before the sale. You also want to get signs. You can buy blank signs to The Home Depot or Lowes. Get pink paint and paint pink ribbons bearing the words All proceeds donated to breast cancer awareness and address with the date of YOUR garage sale.

If you have a dollar store in your area, you can go in and get helium filled pink balloons to tie to the signs. You can also ask a store to give the ball to you.
Also, be sure to list your sale on Craigslist. It is free and people are increasingly using it.
The weekend or one day before your sale, you will sort through all the merchandise that has been given. Want Rebox merchandise, then put it in the garage for the day of sale, you shoot things and they are sorted and ready to go.
