Recent Posts My Friends | MarketplaceDuck Toilet Seat Consulting with my son, toilet training?!? Hes 2 years old and have been informed by the past to wait until he seems ready. I do not think that time will come. He sees me and his father on the toilet, and is interested, but I asked him if he wants to continue, and hes not shouts. I asked him would he want to pee on the pot-still a very adament not! Bought a toilet seat style duck, which he loved, until I placed it on the toilet, then he screamed and he pulled out going bonkers! Have bought "stories pot" which he likes, but does not work to copy! Recently, I told him he would receive a sticker if he was sitting on her potty without his diaper on. He was happy to do it once, but did nothing about pot. He earned the vignette, and I thought we were getting somewere, but it wont do it again. He now wants the sticker, but wants to go to the wick pot! I really tried everything I can think of. I do not push, I always ask him quiet, but it just seems to have a fear of the toilet and potty! help My thought is that he really isn't ready. My son was 3 at the end of August. I started to raise the pot thing about 2 1 / 2 also. Whenever I wanted to try to go on the pot (pot or toilet unreal), he wept. Recently I started a part-time job and he goes to a babysitter for a few hours three days a week. It must have been to see other children his age goes on the pot or maybe he was told by someone other than mom and dad are diapers but he was in his underwear for a week and a half now. Only two "accidents". I also had a bag of cars and trucks (he loves) he might choose as his incentive. Now he has the idea to pee .. bag of cars and trucks to go # 2. (It has major problems with bowel movements in or out of the diaper lol). My older girls have been trained in half the time they were 2 ½ years. I have often heard that it takes more time to train the boys anyway. They learn to be lucid at an early age lol I'm kidding. Anyway .. Maybe you should just put the pot away from the site for a couple of weeks to a month and try again. But keep up with the stories and talk when you are going to pot or dad about large children using diapers big pot and not .. Diapers for babies .. LOL that reminds me one time while I was in the bathroom, I asked him if he was a big boy? he said yes, it was .. So I said lets a good try to use the potty .. and he looked at me and said: nah .. I am a baby! LOL anyway it just goes to show that when they are ready they will .. they find their own reasons ... Do not lose hope .. It will happen .. GOOD LUCK! Try a different reward. Like to have a party every time he uses the pot. The party may consist of hats and blowing up a balloon. The time will come, it will not when you want it! He took our daughter until she was 3 1 / 2! start with a potty training low, the washing scares them. reward him when he is potty make a really big issue. Really when they are ready they will do, boys are a bit slower, I started my session, then, when ready, he will get up and go with the help of a stool. My nephew was the same - it just was not ready at that age. I think if you force him when he is so dead against it you can create a problem for him, you'd better wait a bit until it is more open to the idea, then it will not as an emotional problem for him. 2 ½ years is still very young, after all - so it is completely out of diapers when he gets to daycare or reception, I think it's good. It's so true ... they will not do it until they are ready. Si Posted on May 30, 2010.
