What does it cost me about to take a bath replaced by a single access shower with? Where do you live? USA?
I do not know what you mean by a shower fitted? Tell you the fiberglass units at Home Depot?
Yeah the song units are only for new constructions, as they put them in the room and build around them. Once the walls are gone you can not enter one by the door.
The 3 and 5 piece fiberglassunits wear faster and even cause major cracks and leaks in the floor and walls.
New baths do not last either - nor shower floors are fiberglass. You spend time on work and materials that only last 5-7 years then you must do so again because fiberglass wears.
Go to the acrylic. It is easy to clean and lasts longer than 30 years. You can not buy acrylic at Home Depot. They even have a shower they call acrylic, but when you look at the back fiberglass you see. It's just fiberglass with acrylic.
You're better off spending the sum of 4500 with Bath Fitter and do it once and it will be like new and be easy to clean and totally waterproof (unlike tiles which is a pain to clean grout can escape). Acrylic is carefree and has a lifetime warranty.
Depends on what must be removed and access to pipes and drains and the quality of substitute equipment, etc., but about $ 2,000 - $ 3,000.
I did this several times and I would say you could expect to pay around £ 3.500 for all plumbing / tiling etc.
Please do not use the showers fiberglass that you buy at Home Depot or Lowes. Fiberglass is just fibers woven together, then painted. They only last 5-10 years max (I promise this is true, unless you wax the shower every month with wax boat expensive), so you have to do it again in 5-10. A piece of a shower is only for new construction, anyway, you will have the seams and they have certainly been leaks and hold dirt.
Bath Fitter call if you are in the U.S. or Canada. You can have a bath with shower replacement for about $ 4500 which comes with a wall in one piece (no seams to caulk the corner) and a lifetime warranty on materials, labor and includes wall and caulk Unless the ground work is severely damaged and includes new valves and other equipment.
You clean them with Windex or other mild detergent. Some people use dish soap and hot water ... and wipe them once a week. so easy instead of wax and no worries!
Its just a little more than a hundred of them yourself and you get the lifetime warranty.
Im in the building, I have my own family business called
J-MACC and I charge you around £ 2,000 including accessories and tiling and I offer the shower.
If your in the north-west of England give me a ring on 07999586496 and I will be happy to speak to you and give you advice. Just ask for Lee.
