What are the small towels funny that Olympic divers caught in the shower with them? I watched the Olympics in synchronized diving yesterday and today - love it! - But one thing puzzles me: when couples have plunged and swim to the steps they have awaiting them in water, which resembles a tiny towel, then they take a shower with them! What is this thing and if it's a towel why do they allow it to soak before using it!?
This is not a small washcloth is a chamois and is very absorbent.
Others use everything inbetween dives because towels are not as effective. You can reuse a chamois much more efficiently than a towel and it is easier / more convenient to carry.

Is this a flannel, I may be wrong, but it looks like what you describe. It's just a wash cloth:)
