Nappy Changing Mat

Has anyone used these disposable baby diapers Huggies changing pads and are they good puppy potty training pads? How absorbent are they?

My 2 year old puppy had a digestive problem a few weeks ago, he could not keep it until we walked him and did his business on the carpet once. So I took one of my diapers and put it on him, because he does not, unfortunately, have a tail it was very good. He really made a stink in the layer and held while!
