My grandmother broke her hip and we would get her one of the premier bathtubs with the door open? and the guy told us the price it was $ 17,000.00 and we thought it would be less than $ 5,000.00 so we do not buy it and had to be crazy, but it didn't look like it was, but he said the chip assests-thin, he said: I hope u do not fall!
I'm sorry to hear about your injuries grandmother! And I congratulate you want to help keep her safer in the bathroom. A specialty of kitchen and bathroom design is aging in place. Here are some cheaper alternatives that go into the tub that you can consider for your grandmother
1) If it has a tub / shower, convert it into a little or no threshold shower. (Call a licensed general contractor for this project.)
2) Add a bench for a shower.
3) If she lives alone, replace its existing shower with a cursor on it can use while sitting on his bench.
4) If she lives with your grandfather, add a second shower on a slider that will always be in the proper position while she bathes sitting.
Here are some additional, low cost advice aging in place of my summer newsletter:
aec Replace a standard toilet with a comfortable height version
aec Add grab bars in the shower, tub and toilet
aec Replace faucets button style with lever handle faucets
aec Replace a pre-code shower valve with a non-burning
aec Increase lighting in the bathroom
aec Check that the fan is working properly to prevent mold
aec Replace smooth, smooth flooring tile with a less slippery texture.
I wish your family and your grandmother a speedy recovery.

Not a very professional person, was he?
Please do a google search for "walk in bathtubs." Premier bathtubs are listed, though other manufacturers. The costs seem to be in the range of $ 2,500 +, plus installation. I think the rep . you spoke with you was misleading and was very insensitive.
