Replace Toilet Flange

Replace Toilet FlangeHow to replace the toilet flange on the floor of cast iron pipes?

Is there anyway to replace the flange, and if so, how do you do?

I suppose you change the strap, because it is broken. L will also assume that you made lead joints to connect.

What I want to make is that there are some ways to reduce iron pipes, I hope you have a Sawzall, if you need to get a plate of diamond particles, prefferably an "8, we , made for cutting in cast iron. The pipe that goes to the toilet flange, to find a place on which you can access it with a Sawzall to cut it, it's a slow process, but it will pass eventually. cut the pipe off about a foot or so under the old flange.

But make sure you make a cut at least 6 "away from hubs. If the pipe is 4", get a 4 "x 3" Fernco (rubber) adapter. They are used to join two different types of pipes together. After that, you'll need a piece of 3 inch and a toilet flange. (If the soil is poor around the toilet is also a good time to fix that.)

Put the adapter on the melting Fernco and tighten the clamp that comes with it. Place a piece of 3 "pipe at the other end of the Fernco, long enough to pass through the soil. Do not tighten the clamp again, the top of the pipe must be aligned with the top of the floor, if is not cut so it is.

Now, glue the pipe in the new toilet flange. (If you have a basement, it should be much easier.) Insert the hose into the hole in the floor in the Fernco. Measure the distance between the wall behind the center of the toilet flange, align the slots of the flange bolts to the measure.

Tighten the reins on the ground, using large Phillips head screws. It is important to do so. Remember to tighten the 3 "pipe in the Fernco. Place the back toilet, I guess you already know how. Check for leaks, and that's it.

Good Luck

Couple of ways acceptable to simply replace the flange.
1. Using a small chisel, cut all the old lead to the flange around the old pipe. This should allow you to remove the existing flange. Buying a new flange, caulk with oakum and lead flow and tampers with putty iron to secure and seal. Secure new floor flange.

2. Buying new replacement flange which is in the existing cast iron pipe and seals securely using bolts that compress seal. Anchoring securely to the floor. This may require removing a floor covering just around the pipe flange to allow for adaptation.

2a. They are also replacing PVC that fits in a cast iron 4 "and tightens the seal using bolts. However, you may need to cut the iron pipe for the replacement strap snug against the ground. Hose cast can be cut easily with a small angle grinder. Just look at the sparks.

Go to your local plumbing supply local and tell them the problem. They are a replacement for PVC melt, the problem is to have space to put it. If it is a concrete floor, you want to busting some concrete. If it is a conventional floor, you'll have a job much easier. Good luck!

If you have a busted bracket that is not too badly broken, they have replacement parts for them. It is essentially a piece of bent metal that slips under the flange and extends over the area broken so you can clip the toilet. I had a flange out and I had the role of compensation at Home Depot for a few dollars ... There is not no easy way to change! .... Good luck ...
