Nestled amid the picturesque farmland of County Leitrim, Ireland, under the heading "Sheenun", the "Fairy Hill" and on the shores of Lough Melvin, is charming Roosky Cottage. The traditional 19th century cottage, the symbol Ireland Life, offers an oasis of calm and peaceful you in the middle of the lake surrounding moors and hills.

Our house is ideally located 15 minutes drive from the seaside town of Bundoran Atlantic and a half hours of lively towns of Sligo and Donegal. Roosky Cottage is three hours from Dublin, Belfast and 2 hours of 4:00 Shannon.

We invite you to discover our country retreat! Weekly and monthly rentals are available all year. Shorter stays are available on special request.

Feel the heat as you Roosky Cottage by peers in the window and enter our door.

Our comfortable lounge is decorated with a fireplace grass fresh, comfortable sofa, chairs and TV.

The dining room shares the living space, offering a relaxed atmosphere for your home-cooked meal or a friendly game of cards.

Our country kitchen is equipped with a beautiful Irish antique hutch is fully equipped with microwave convection grill, fridge, oven, stove, cookware, towels, utensils and serving ware.

Each of our comfortable rooms offer fireplaces turf, European goose down duvets and en suite bathroom ceramic tile bathrooms.

Our master bedroom with double bed has an ensuite bathroom with bathtub.

To see and do:

You can do as little or as much as you want here. Birdwatch in our garden, reading a book or take a sunset stroll along the Atlantic Ocean. Look for wild rabbits, pheasants and other wildlife. Try the recipes of Irish cuisine. Choose our wild garlic, sorrel and blackberries your secret ingredients, or prepare the day's catch from Lough Melvin!

Challenging the trout and salmon is just at our doorstep on Lough Melvin. Fishing boats and guides are available for rent nearby. ... Or take a charter fishing on the sea in Donegal Bay and Mullaghmore Ballyshannon.

Golfers can choose between three magnificent links courses during their stay Bundoran Golf Club tied 69 18 - holes in 15 minutes; Sligo Golf Club (Rosses Point), a championship par 71 course, 25 minutes by car and Donegal Golf Club ( Murvagh) an 18 hole course with a 73 to 25 minutes.

The hiking and walking abounds here. Located 5 minutes drive from us is picturesque Fowley Falls, a mile long sequence of waterfalls hidden in the woods with a trail maintained and picnic area.

Rent a bike or canoe at Holiday Centre in garrison. Horseback riding is also popular with teams in neighboring cities.

Take an unlimited number of scenic routes with Roosky your base. Drive up the road behind us to Barr views of Lough Melvin and the Bay of Donegal. Discover the sea cliffs with breathtaking ocean and prospects along the Bay of Donegal Slieve League.

JUMP, restaurants, entertainment

Ready for urban life? Shopping, dining, entertainment, people watching .... Everything is at hand. On the seafront Bundoran, (15 minutes), you will find seafood restaurants and continental pub gigs, local performances and even playrooms. "Waterworld" is here, where you will find an indoor pool, sauna and waterslide for the whole family. The nearby towns of Kinlough, Mullaghmore, Cliffonney, Blacklion and many other villages have unique restaurants with excellent food.

Donegal town known for its tweeds has a downtown with many interesting shops, restaurants, pubs and an ancient castle that is not to be missed. Walk around there with a local guide. Sligo is the largest nearby city with museums, shops, restaurants, traditions.
