Tub And Shower Surrounds

Tub And Shower SurroundsDoes anyone know a good product to remove rust stains in a tub / shower surround?

We recently bought a brand new Lowes of (brand Sterling by Kohler) and installed it a month ago. I now see the rust development and do not know what to use to remove it. I use a daily shower spray, but that does not seem to help. I tried but no Limeaway use. The shower and tub surround are Vikrell. I do not want to use something that will gnaw at it just to get rid of stains or (at this rate we will buy another in about 5 years). Thank you for any info.

There is a product called "CLR". CLR stands for calcium, lime and rust. K-Mart, Target, Wal-Mart, Home Depot carry this and other stores. This product removes rust your talking about. But before going to purchase, have you tried just using something like Soft Scrub and a green scrubber these things? Rinso done and they are green nylon scouring pads. Good luck.

CSF or CLR I do not remember. Check Lowes they carry it or try Home Depot. Or try Kaboom works on a variety of tasks.

ammonia base. It does wonders on rust stains. I am worried about my water quality, however, if your shower stains easily - and permanently. You can invest in a filtration system home water together. I had a friend who bought one at Lowes for $ 500ish, so not too bad. Salt and these should be budgeted.

Here is their website, which does not give many details. Is that rust stains from your water? Or elsewhere? The best solution in the future will be prevention, can be rinsed with water after use rust.

I would suggest you contact their customer service and ask them. You do not want to do something to void your warranty.

A product called ZAP. You can order it online. I have very hard water and rust stains made me mad, it is more effective than anything I ever bought.
I also used the gum (I think they are made by Mr. Clean) they work good for rust.

CLR works great. We have well water that comes out of the orange valve because of rust. CLR becomes all sparkling white again.

The only product that you might try is WD40. Do you have well water so, it is water. When you use WD40 spray it on a cleaning cloth, then wipe the shower / tub surround. My suggestion after you use your shower rinse thoroughly and wipe dry after each use and you will not rust or water accumulate. lather too.

Unfortunately, there are not many on the market that will get rid of rust stains, but will not erode the surface. CLR works, like the tub and tile work cleaning bathrooms.
When I moved in with my fiance last year, he had horrible rust all over the tub and shower walls (we have well water). I followed my mother's advice and used such beautiful things, and it took a rub, but it finally went!
Just do not use it all the time because it disintigrate your tub and shower walls. I use it about once a month or so, can I use Kaboom week to clean.
Good luck!
