(ARA) - It is a room with toilet and washbasin. Maybe a window, if you're lucky. The average size is smaller than four feet by five feet. And if it can not be worse, it is probably the most frequently used room in your home - especially for guests and visitors.

Yes, it is the bathroom. . . also known as the half-bath or guest. While for years it was a tiny room, often forgotten when decorating, manufacturers today are actually allocating more space for the bathroom. In addition, bathrooms in many newer homes offer such upscale features as high-end, pedestal sinks, ornate accessories and sophisticated lighting.

Whether your bathroom is large or small, is a space where you can let your expression show. Because its size is usually smaller than other rooms in your house, it allows you the opportunity to be a bit more creativity and daring. Plus, you can have a significant impact decorations with little time and money, and change the look often to keep the freshness.

A small room that has a Big Impact

The room name "powder" actually descends from Victorian times. Bathrooms are often called bathrooms, because it was the place where ladies retired to powder their noses. These areas have been tastefully decorated and full of charm.

Today, the bathroom is equally important for the interior, if not more. In fact, its design has become so important that the national kitchen and bathroom Association has added a room category of its annual contest powder design which provides a barometer for what's hot in the design industry.

But beautifying the bathroom with a touch of style is not a challenge left only to interior designers. Thank you to the popularity of many do-it-yourself television shows decoration, more Americans than ever are trying their hand at stylish decorating themselves. In fact, a recent survey by Specialties International, a division of Moen Incorporated and bedrooms of America, a consumer research organization, revealed that over 75 percent of respondents said that decorating themes are "important" in the bathroom.

What does this mean for manufacturers of bathroom products related? According to Mark Savan, vice president and general manager of Creative Specialties International, "the style preferences of consumption are our most important consideration when designing new bath accessories collections. We take seriously the results of the investigation and even conduct our own focus groups to further substantiate consumer preferences. "

Based on this extensive research, Creative Specialties International recently introduced four new bath accessories collections designed to reflect the styles used in a bath today. Sold under the Inspirations brand, the Stockton, Danbury, Sage and Avery collections each fall into one of three design categories - traditional, contemporary / casual or country. The Stockton, Sage and Avery collections are available in chrome and brushed nickel, while the Danbury collection is available in chrome and popular oil rubbed bronze. Each product creates a consistent look for a guest bathroom.

"In talking with consumers, we found that many are looking to really make a statement in their bathroom - and perhaps a bit more experimental with their decorating," says Savan. "That's why our new collections feature more stylish and contemporary - to meet the demand of a growing trend styles. In addition to the style of accessories, our new collections also feature exceptional finishes, like brushed nickel. The result is a product that mixes well in many rooms of powder in vogue today. "
