Wall Hooks

Wall HooksWhat type of wall hooks I need to hold a heavy object on the wall?

I'm cleaning the garage and I want to install wall hooks to hold them securely and two folding chairs really heavy metal on the garage wall.

Is wall hooks even the correct term for what I need? Give me the tools and I can do the job. However, I do not know what type of hooks I need ... and the only hooks I found so far seem to take something light like a picture.

The brackets would I need would be kind of need to extend some distance outwards, so that the metal frame of sunbathing can be found on each hook. I think three metal hooks for each sunbathing. Any idea where to find suitable wall hooks for heavy items?

Atm the deck too stupid to take place on the garage floor. It was purchased for sunbathing in the garden. The number of arguments I had with her to buy them in my back, in the first place ........ too expensive and heavy and they take up valuable space where all the garage floor.

(Rant over)
Thank you.

Go with Gizmo on this, except that you'll most likely need 8 or 10 mm bolts, as the screw threads are large enough on the hooks I think!

You should look for hooks to the weight of what you are suspended, and make sure you hang on a wall stud or withdraw from the wall.

Head to a discount store like Wal-Mart or Kmart.

In the Tools section you will find great hook threaded with red rubber coating on the hook part.

Screw the threaded end into a stud in the wall of the garage, and you're ready to go.

Go to B & Q, they do packs of hooks to hold garage you need. Get hooks for hanging heavy ladders, etc.. You'll also need a 6 mm drill and masonry plugs until you arrive to mount the brackets.

No problem, most DIY stores, or one pound shops carry the kind of thing you meen. They are extended up to 6 inches long hooks well. If you are unable to screw in the wood, you may need to be "taken" from the wall for a secure fit.

Good luck

Why not do what we did in our garage to keep the ladder. Just put up a pair of shelf brackets, the kind that are L-shaped They sit well on them.

Hello,
Not a great experience with this lol, but I know that my father uses a pair of right angle, steel, screw on the storage media to hold a large pair of scales in the garage back home. They are usually used for heavy plates (eg in garages / workshops), but work just as well as hooks. obtained from any hardware store, then screw on the wall and the location of the sun well. Seems to work for my father, none of the wide range of spam fell on the precious MGB GT!

Go to Lowe's Web site and review products Gladiator. It is more expensive than buying hooks, but did a good job.

You can buy hooks that are up to 6-8 cm long after the little screw, they can be a standard hook or a rounded off square type. Just drill and plug the walls of good size and quality of corks and they saw the same thing only smaller. You can get them in most hardware stores and I've even seen them in Aldi. We used to lift a roof box high in our garage when he was off duty, with two bikes, lawnmowers, leaf blowers, blah blah blah. Go ...... get your work surface. ;-)
